Facebook is FUN!
At work. Great way to stay in tune with market trends … and play farmville. Let’s buddy up! No poking though … I have issues.

If you don’t have an account, you should get one. Stay informed on all upcoming trends. That and I retweet a ton of good stuff!

Who do I highlight today?

Dave Glanz

Ahh, what can I say about Dave.  Great supporter of the site and always there testing and learning new things in Cinema 4D, I actually really looked into him when I saw his demo reel.  I was browsing through great demo reels and I made his one of my favorites 6 months earlier.  I noticed his avatar and well, it looked very familiar.  Then things start to click and I realized that he has commented (positively) on my tutorials.  It was very flattering because Dave is an amazing motion graphic designer.  Some people are great at modeling, some are lighting, but Dave is the whole package.  In fact, I’m coining the term getting “Glanz’d” because I create a tutorial, then he takes it and makes it 10x better.

He’s done production work for multiple companies, including Discovery channel, TLC, History, Travel Channel and PBS.  The most exciting thing is he was able to use Tutorial 5 in one of his projects for Modern Marvels.  Check it out!

Motion Graphics Las Vegas is a motion graphics user group.  If you’re in town or planning a visit, stop by an say hello.  All designers welcome and we do much more than sit around and talk!

What is MGLV?

MGLV stands for Motion Graphics Las Vegas. This is where Motion Graphics and Visual Effects artists meet to discuss their work, the industry, new software, and network. If you are currently in the industry, are studying to become an industry professional, or simply are curious and have a passion for the craft, then come check it out. What’s even better … It’s free!

Why should I join?

Networking is everything in this world. Don’t get me wrong, it is what you know, but it doesn’t do you any good if there’s nobody to show it to. Besides, no one gets far playing lone wolf. Meet other designers, share ideas, and let’s build a community together.

Sign me up!

Meetings are held every month. To go to the official meetup page, click here. We meet at the Art Institute of Las Vegas from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. It should be a lot of fun and I look forward to hanging out/cracking a beer with all of you!
