1 Month – 1 Level

Blog / Game Development / Recent Work

So I’m a pretty big gamer and about 3 years ago, I started taking private lessons from Jonathan Weinburger (google him) to learn how to write C# in Unity. I must say, after a year of instruction and 2 years at some failed video game concepts, I think I’m finally starting to tap gold.

The idea was to build a space shooter with similar controls like StarFox with the graphical look of a Battlestar Galactica and the mission setup like Wing Commander. But before I get too big, the main focus for me at first was this simple – Build 1 level in 1 month.

It’s a simple challenge, but it’s incredibly complicated. Lots of moving parts. Lots of custom components. Lots of little things that add up to one big thing, but I’m proud to say I’m making significant progress.

Though there is still an incredible amount of work left to do, there is definitely something here and something very fun. This was built using C4D and Unity and wow, if this is the future of incorporating CG and real-time interactivity, I’m so excited!!!

Dude! That is completely insane, that you went from zero to that in a single month. Looks truly amazing and I can’t wait to see how it evolves!
