It’s going to a great cause folks!

Now that was a lot of fun. We raised $265 dollars for charity and I got myself a decent do. Really folks, this is such a great cause. I love it in that it made money for a great cause, but there is something far more special in this event.

The shaving of the hair is not meant for humor or laughs. It’s a symbol far greater than most realize. When you get diagnosed for cancer, one of the few ways to fight it is through chemotherapy, which is not fun. Extreme nausea, fatigue, fever, chills, aches, basically take your worst days you have ever felt and do them voluntarily. Even better yet, understand that even with all this misery, it’s not a full proof treatment.

Then there’s the likelihood that you will lose your hair as well. Ya feel like crap, your depressed, and you loose your hair. I look at the cut not as a sympathy, but a simple statement:

“Even though I’m not in the same situation as you, I’m sorry and you won’t have to do this alone.”

Thank you to everyone who donated and let’s shoot to raise even more money next year!

I’ve answered the call to be a hero! I’m having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.

Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
